Title: The People We Keep
Author: Allison Larkin
My Rating: ⭐
Why I gave this rating: I’m sure this is a great book but as soon as they had the 16 year old start a relationship with a 27 year old, I couldn’t read anyone. Kind of a bummer cause was enjoying it until till that point.

Title: Killers of a Certain Age
Author: Deanna Raybourn
My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (.5)
Why I gave this rating: Sarcastic granny assassins!! What more do you need. I kept picture the Golden Girls and couldn’t stop laughing. This book is deeply entertaining. The only issue was there were certain things that felt too far fetched but other than that would recommend. A very fun read.
People who would like this book: Unique twist on a mystery.
Favorite Quote: “He was dressed like a tourist, his T-shirt tucked into belted jeans like a sociopath.”

Title: The Defining Decade: Why Your Twenties Matter — And How to Make the Most of Them Now
Author: Meg Jay
My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Why I gave this rating: This is definitely a book that takes time to read. It’s by no means a fast-paced book. Kind of just read it when you get the chance. It’s also one that doesn’t need to be read in chapter order if there’s a specific one you want to read first, go there! As someone who is in her mid-twenties, it was definitely an interesting take on many things I’m currently experiencing in life.
People who would like this book: Twenty-Somethings (duh). People who interact with people in their 20s.
Favorite Quote: “It’s the people we hardly know, and not our closest friends, who will improve our lives most dramatically.”

Title: The Making of Her
Author: Bernadette Jiwa
My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐
Why I gave this rating: This book fell flat for me. I read it for my family book club and had picked it because women’s history month and the author is Irish for St. Pats. I was hoping there would be more history of Ireland. I also predicted the rest of the book in the first 40 pages.

Title: The Fortunes of Jaded Women
Author: Carolyn Huynh
My Rating: ⭐⭐
Why I gave this rating: I wasn’t that excited when I first picked up this book which was probably my first issue. Needed to want to read this book and not just cause it’s been on my shelf for awhile. Struggled with following the plot and all the different names.

Title: Every Summer After
Author: Carley Fortune
My Rating: ⭐⭐
Why I gave this rating: Did not vibe with this book at all. Didn’t like the couple, didn’t like the cheating and just didn’t like it.

Title: Hooked
Author: Emily McIntire
My Rating: ⭐
Why I gave this rating: LOOK UP TRIGGER WARNINGS BEFORE READING!!! First of all, wtf did I just read. I want to burn my eyeballs. It’s like all the worst tropes in a romance book altogether. Horrible retelling of a Disney story. Do not read this book.

Title: Red, White & Royal Blue
Author: Casey McQuiston
My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Why I gave this rating: I went back and forth between a 3 star and a 4 star but made my final decision with a four. It’s a charming romance book that does a great job of representing the LGTBQ+ community with a dash of spice. Plus who doesn’t want to find themselves an English prince. My one dislike was Alex took a while for me to like. But would recommend this book to anyone looking for your not-so-typical romance.
People who would like this book: People wanting to read a romance book with LGTBQ+ representation.
Favorite Quote: “To every person in search of somewhere to belong who happened to pick up this book, I hope you found a place in here, even if just for a few pages. You are loved. I wrote this for you. Keep fighting, keep making history, keep looking after one another.”
