Chez Moi in Chicago, Illinois (Lincoln Park)

Word of advice to you lovely people, do research before going to a restaurant unplanned. You may find yourself in a very romantic setting with your best friend while one of you is wearing crocs and the other has not put on any makeup. In our defense, we thought we were meeting a friend at her apartment for apps but she was not ready for us when we got there and we were very hungry. Hence finding ourselves in a romantic french restaurant on Valentine’s weekend. Definitely had a good laugh about that.

French Cuisine in general is not normally a food I am craving. It’s definitely not in my top tier of foods I would typically choose between. That being said, I know many cuisines around the world have french roots and many of the best chefs are classically French-trained. Just never really been my favorite. If you do go to Chez Moi, the one item I would recommend ordering is the Mushroom Ravioli. It was served over roasted veggies and a sauce that was so decadent. Did not leave that plate with anything left on it when they took it away. The mussels were definitely not my most favorite that I’ve ever had. They were a little too fishy tasting for my liking. Not sure if I’d go back was still fun checking it out even not knowing how romantic it would end up feeling. My overall rating 8/10!
