Title: The Investigator
Author: John Sandford
My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐
Why I gave this rating: This style of action/thriller isn’t really my favorite. It’s great for fans of James Patterson or Lee Child but I always struggle to get into these kinds of books. The one plus of this series vs others is the main character is female which you don’t always see from these authors.

Title: The Lies I Tell
Author: Julie Clark
My Rating:⭐(.5)
Why I gave this rating:
This wasn’t the thriller for me. I kept waiting for something more than just a conwoman looking for revenge to a jerk from her past. It was missing something to keep me engaged. It was very lacking in my opinion.

Title: Book Lovers
Author: Emily Henry
My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (.5)
Why I gave this rating: Spicy! Spicy! This is a perfect kind of romance. Very sweet, with lots of spice and tons of sarcasm. Will have you grinning along at the banter and makes your heart melt by the end. Looking forward to reading other books by Emily Henry. So far was more impressed then with the Colleen Hoover books I’ve read. Plus I enjoy reading books where the characters also love books :).
People who would like this book: Easy romance beach read.
Favorite Quote: “That’s life. You’re always making decisions, taking paths that lead you away from the rest before you can see where they end. Maybe that’s why we as a species love stories so much. All those chances for do-overs, opportunities to live the lives we’ll never have.”

Title: Our Last Days in Barcelona
Author: Chanel Cleeton
My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ (.75)
Why I gave this rating: This is a book that can be read as a standalone but makes more sense if read in series order. It’s definitely more romantic than her others. Kind of missed the history aspect she includes about Cuba in her books. It’s an easy read. This whole series would be a great beach read.

Title: Such Big Dreams
Author: Reema Patel
My Rating: ⭐⭐
Why I gave this rating: I read about 50 pages but was just bored with the plot. Not sure what I was looking for but just something a little more catching. I’m still interested in reading books set in India, so if you have any you would recommend, please let me know.

Title: Local Woman Missing
Author: Mary Kubica
My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐
Why I gave this rating: I always get excited when I start a thriller. The anticipation of figuring out who did it and the cliffhangers to follow. This one just fell flat for me. Not really any big cliffhangers and I figured out the ending about halfway. The ending also just wrapped very quickly. Like the book was this long drawn out mystery and they wrapped the ending in like 5 pages.

Title: Why Not Me?
Author: Mindy Kaling
My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Why I gave this rating: This is a laugh-out-loud kind of book. Was chuckling the entire time. It would make for a great beach read. If you like Tina Fey’s Bossy Pants or Amy Poehler’s Yes Please, check out some of Mindy’s work.
People who would like this book: Female comedian memoirs. Easy beach reads.
Favorite Quote: “People get scared when you try to do something, especially when it looks like you’re succeeding. People do not get scared when you’re failing. It calms them. But when you’re winning, it makes them feel like they’re losing or, worse yet, that maybe they should’ve tried to do something too, but now it’s too late. And since they didn’t, they want to stop you. You can’t let them.”

Title: Reminders of Him
Author: Colleen Hoover
My Rating: ⭐⭐
Why I gave this rating: I read 200 pages before I put it down. Bunch of annoying mind games. Like Ledger likes her but also yells at her when she tries to see her daughter. Men. I also just don’t think I’m a Colleen Hoover girlie. Haven’t had much success with her books
