*Other than my top books of 2022 that I’m hoping will go out 12/27, this will be my final post till after the New Year. Wishing you all a Happy Holidays and Happy New Year. Thank you for the support over the last year.*

Title: We Are the Light
Author: Matthew Quick
My Rating: ⭐ (.5)
Why I gave this rating: I made it two chapters in this book before I set it aside and most likely will not ever go back to it. My first complaint is I am not a fan of the letter style. Each chapter was written as a letter to the same person (the 2 chapters I read). Struggled with seeing how the characters would grow if they were writing to the same person the entire time. Also, a lot more religious then I thought would be. Nothing against religion, but it was very much thrown in your face.

Title: Taste: My Life through Food
Author: Stanley Tucci
My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Why I gave this rating: This is the ultimate foodie book. Had me salivating and wanting to travel to NYC and Italy to try everything he was talking about. Stanley also included some of his family recipes at the end of the chapters. Was a lot about how food has impacted his life and how his passion for it has grown over the years. Behind every recipe is the story for how it came to be. Reminded me a little of my own family. While we are very much an Irish American family, we still celebrate Thanksgiving with all things Italian. Not sure how that tradition came to be, but many fond memories with loved ones started with being in the kitchen all together.
People who would like this book: Foodies. People who are hungry and love Italian food.
Favorite Quote: “When my parents are no longer alive, I will always be able to put their teachings and all the love they gave me into a bowl and present it to someone who sadly will never have had the good fortune of knowing them. But by eating that food, they will come to know them, if even just a little.”

Title: Ninth House
Author: Leigh Bardugo
My Rating: ⭐⭐
Why I gave this rating: Really thought I was honing into my fantasy era when I picked this one up the other day. I read almost 75 pages of this and had no idea what was happening the entire time. Which isn’t really that strange for a fantasy book as you are building an entire new world usually, but this wasn’t even set in a fantasy world. It was set at Yale University! And I know people rave about this book, it just was not for me. Will continue attempting to read fantasy until I understand what I’m reading.

Title: Girl, Forgotten
Author: Karin Slaughter
My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐
Why I gave this rating: This thriller was very just ok. Was an unexpected ending but the style of it wasn’t my favorite. It didn’t grab me like other thrillers have. Was just kind of going through the motion of reading it without really connecting to anything I was reading. May consider reading another one of hers later on.
