Had an event in the West Loop/Fullerton neighborhood a few weeks ago that ended early, so obviously my solution when something ends early is where can I eat around here. West Loop/Fullerton is one of my favorite neighborhoods in Chicago. It feels very clean, has great shopping with both local and big names stores, and there are some incredible eateries. If I were to live downtown (still figuring that out), this would be one of the first neighborhoods I’d check out. Anyways, after our event ended, we were trying to figure out what we wanted to eat and kept coming across City Winery. Now for someone who loves a glass of wine, I am embarrassed to say I had not heard of this place. Great wine, delicious food, and also a part-time venue for all different kinds of talent. Would be a very fun place to see a show.

Potatoes (doesn’t matter the kind of style) and an onion chive dip are an often forgotten duo in my opinion. Like Potato Chips and that onion dip you can buy from the store is needed at every party. This was like an elevated version of that store-bought one. Made of creme fraiche and caviar, I felt very fancy eating this. Burrata & Prosciutto, is another classic duo. While I did enjoy this pizza, I think I would have preferred it if it was a white sauce base instead of marinara. Felt a little off with the flavors. Overall, I did enjoy City Winery and would go back for the ambiance and to see a show one day. Full Rating is 8.5/10!
