If I were to ever open a restaurant one day (I won’t but in the off chance I decide to do so) I love it when chefs make seasonal menus. Yes, it sucks cause what if you have something amazing and have to wait a whole year before you can have it again (lobster potholes), but if the first experience is incredible then you are going to want to visit every season just to see what’s new. I think it’s a genius plan of restaurants cause if the food is good, you will get people (me) there at least 4 times a year. That was Cadence for me. I went in late August/early September and I’m already looking for my next visit sometime this fall. It shouldn’t be that much of a surprise for myself as they are the same owners of my favorite restaurant The Foxtail.

If you were unable to guess based on my introduction, I thought their food was absolutely incredible. I got this watermelon cocktail (another summer thing) and I am not a watermelon drink person but it was so good (I’m sure my old english teachers are screaming at me for the use of the word good in multiple places in this post). Now let’s talk about the food. Lobster Potholes. Where have you been all my life?? There’s butter, and garlic, and mushrooms and lobster. Say no more! Fried Brussels of course had to be ordered. Shrimp & Polenta was a new one for me as I am not usually a huge polenta fan, but with the corn and other mixins, plus with just the right amount of kick, I found myself wanting to lick the bowl afterwards (I didn’t but the thought crossed my head one too many times). So, clearly this place was a winner and I will be going back all the time. 10/10!
