The first lesson of this post is to treat your grandparents to dinner, it makes them very happy for you to take time away from your busy schedule and bring them to a special dinner. Second, truffle gnocchi is the GOAT but more on that later. My best friend and I recently treated her grandma to a nice dinner at Caffe De Luca, and had such a pleasant experience. I don’t often find myself in those suburbs of Chicago, but I will be willing to make the trek again to try more places in this area.

Truffle Gnocchi people. I don’t need to say anything else. If you don’t like truffles then you can ignore that but you will quickly come to realize, I will post about them a lot. This is not a light dish but man was it amazing. Still thinking about it. Their eggplant parm was up there in top ones I’ve tried, and this is coming from someone who is not a huge eggplant fan. And if you are looking for a lighter option, their gluten free pasta with grilled veggies can be substituted for any pasta you want. If you’re going to order a drink, our waitress recommended their pear martini which is one of their most popular drinks of choice. Overall, had a great experience at Caffe De Luca and would recommend this to anyone in that area.
