PSA: Please bear with me as I figure out this new aspect of the blog aka All Things Food. I love looking up best places to eat when I travel somewhere or even when I’m back in Chicago constantly looking up places or asking friends for food recommendations, so I thought it would be a fun concept to add to The Library Abroad. That way if you were ever traveling to some of these places you would have some restaurants to either go to or avoid depending on what I have to say about it. Officially a Proclaimed Restaurant Writer/Critic (gave myself that title)
Lombardi’s is located right next to the navy base in Everett, WA. It’s a cozy Italian joint offering some classic Italian fare but with a slight twist. Located right on the harbor, it makes for a perfect place to watch the boats come in from sea and the sun set. Make sure to take a walk on the boardwalk behind it afterwards and be on the lookout for seals. They love following in the fisherman in hopes they toss them some fish or other goodies.

Here is a run down of my experience visiting Lombardi’s. I didn’t try their wine, though I suppose I probably should have, but tried two of their cocktails which were just ok. I would probably avoid their hard liquor and go for beer or wine next time. Their calamari appetizer was unlike your typical calamari. The squid was sliced very thin before being fried which made it very light. Top it off with their spicy aioli and mmm mmm mmm. For our main course, I got their chicken club on a ciabatta roll with their house chips (oddly both salty and sweet at the same time) and my friend got their Tortellini Gorgonzola. Both dishes were pretty good, the tortellini just needed a little more flavor or some fresh herbs added to it. Overall when I add the atmosphere, drinks and food together it was probably a 6.5/10.
