Pure Michigan

There’s a place in Southwestern Michigan that holds a special place in many hearts including my own. A place that has some of the prettiest sunsets you will ever see. A place where at night you just see stars for miles and miles. Where falling asleep to the old cottonwood rustling in the wind is the norm. Where friends and families near and far come to be together once again.

Summer is filled with days at the lake just taking a break from the rest of the world. Because there is no better time than lake time. Where nights are filled with bonfires, smores, and firefly catching. Fall in Michigan is unlike anything you have ever seen before. Where the forests all around are filled with rainbows of colors and just grasping your attention as you drive through. Winter is filled with walking on the lake talking to the ice fisherman. Being told that ice is thick enough to drive your car out there but never wanting to test that theory. Coming inside in the evening after getting just a little too cold and running to the fireplace and drinking some warm hot cocoa. Spring is filled with new beginnings and the farmers across the street getting ready for the new harvest.

Though it may look similar to those around it, there is just something special about this place. For all the places I have been to around the world, when I think of my happy place I think of Pleasant Lake. As there is nothing truly like Pure Michigan.
