Outfox by Sandra Brown

One of these days I am sure I’ll learn my lesson of reading thriller books but it’s not today and probably won’t be for awhile. There’s just something about them that though they make me terrified the entire time while reading them, they do such a great job of capturing my attention and throwing in those chapter ending cliff hangers that has me NEEDING to read the next chapter. Constant goosebumps running down my arms and the fear that this may happen in real life are always a little present in my mind but not enough for me to put the book down.

Outfox follows the journey of FBI agent Drex Easton on his hunt to find a serial killer that has been known to entrance wealthy young women before taking their savings and killing them. This hunt has been going on for the last 30 years but every time Drex thinks he is about to get the guy, he disappears without a trace. New identity, new look, new location. He finally gets the tip that he needs about who this man possibly is and decides that the best way for him to get to know him and see if he truly is the serial killer he has been looking for all his life is by becoming his next door neighbor. Will Drex be able to find this killer before there is another victim or will it be too late?

In a series of twists and turns that you don’t see coming, this book captures you right from the beginning. The only issue I had with this book was the ending. Last two chapters kind of had me questioning why they were included and could’ve probably ended before hand but that was pretty much my only issue that I had with this book. You will just have to see for yourself if a FBI agent can truly be Outfoxed.
